Paver Cleaning & Sealing

At Pressure Washing Scallywags, we offer a variety of paver services including paver cleaning, paver joint re-sanding, brick and concrete paver sealing, natural stone sealing, and driveway paver sealing.

Contrary to some sales pitches, pavers need to be properly maintained to preserve the natural beauty and appearance of the material. Failure to properly clean, replenish joint sand, and reseal the pavers, will lead to larger issues in the future and become a daunting task.

WHY DO I NEED TO SEAL MY PAVERS?

  • Sealing pavers preserve the original color, enhances the appearance, and protects your investment

  • Sealing pavers protects from stains and natural elements

  • Sealing pavers stabilizes the joint sand and inhibits weed growth

  • Not sealing pavers require more frequent cleaning

Value Is Everything

Worn out/unsealed pavers can absorb unwanted liquids, causing permanent damage in the long-term. Taking preventative measures now, outweigh the cost and effort of constant upkeep!

OUR PAVER SEALING PROCESS

  • Prep the area by removing any debris including leaves and pet hair

  • Target any stains including rust, oil, and grease

  • Apply a cleaning solution to penetrate the surface of the pavers and joints to break down debris and kill organic matter on a microscopic level

  • Using a rotary surface cleaner, the area is deep cleaned using water to force dirt and grime to be washed away

  • After the surface is cleaned, the joints are then targeted to ensure all weeds and loose debris are removed

  • Once the pavers are rinsed and dry, a silica based sand is used to ensure all joints are properly and adequately filled; sand should not be higher than the edge of the pavers

  • The pavers are then cleared of any excess sand and looked over one final time to ensure there are no high/low spots prior to sealing

  • Finally, the sealer is ready to be applied in a two coat process

We advise to remain off the pavers for six hours after the final application, 24 hours before replacing furniture/deck items, and 48 hours before vehicle traffic.
